Dishonors occur only if a characters Honor drops below 5, in which case they replace Oaths and Virtues. However effects are cumulative as you drop lower into (i.e. if at 2 honor than you must apply the 4, 3, and 2 dishonors to your character). Unlike Oaths and Virtues, Dishonors persist outside of combat and are effectively permanent until Honor is raised again.
